FCC grills Comcast

Hundreds gathered at Harvard¿s law school on Thursday for an FCC hearing on net neutrality. The FCC is investigating complaints that Comcast has interfered with certain types of web traffic, specifically peer to peer file-sharing.

IBM’s next-gen mainframe

MTI shows tiny fuel cells

MTI Micro CEO Peng Lim shows off two of the company’s prototype methanol fuel cells in Tokyo. One is a thin fuel cell for integration into a smart phone and the other can fit inside the camera battery grip for a digital SLR camera.

Sony has developed a working prototype hand-powered digital still camera. The camera is the first working concept in its Odo design program that seeks ideas for products for use in areas where the electricity supply is weak or non-existant.

Microsoft fined $1.3B

The European Commission fined Microsoft 899 million Euros, about 1.3 billion dollars on Wednesday for what the competition commissioner called continued failure to honor a 2004 antitrust ruling.
